Why should I become a member?

We believe the Bible clearly teaches that the church is a family.  God expects us to be members of a local church family.  A Christian without a church family is a spiritual orphan.  Our goal is to help you commit yourself to Christ and the South Haven family.

“…You are fellow citizens with God’s people and members of God’s household”   Ephesians 2:19 NIV

How can I join South Haven?

There are three ways to become a member of South Haven:

1.  PROFESSION OF FAITH

– A public profession of your faith in Jesus Christ, followed by the biblical ordinance of baptism.  This is typically for those who are new believers.

2.  TRANSFER OF LETTER

– A request is made to have your membership transferred from another Southern Baptist Church of which you previously were a member.

3.  STATEMENT OF FAITH

– If you are a believer who is coming from another tradition or denomination, we will gladly accept you for membership on the basis of your testimony of faith in Jesus Christ.  If you were baptized as an infant or by a manner other than immersion, we ask that you be baptized by immersion in agreement with our belief and tradition.
